Oakland Raiders safety Karl Joseph and Washington Redskins wide receiver Josh Doctson were among 12 first-round picks from the 2016 draft to have their fifth-year options declined.

The deadline was Friday to pick up options on former first-round picks for the 2020 season. Those who had theirs rejected will become free agents following the 2019 campaign.

Two other first-rounders, Corey Coleman and Paxton Lynch, were released before their rookie contracts expired, which nullified their fifth-year options.

Thirty-one players were selected in Round 1 of the 2016 draft instead of the usual 32. The New England Patriots forfeited their first-rounder in the aftermath of "Deflategate."
