New to free agency, six-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Gerald McCoy is intrigued by the Cleveland Browns, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

Things have yet to progress to the point of a visit, but there are coaches who wouldn't be opposed to bringing McCoy aboard.

New Browns offensive coordinator Todd Monken served under the same capacity with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the past three seasons and was asked by general manager John Dorsey about McCoy.

"I think a lot of Gerald. He was an outstanding football player for us and he's had a tremendous career. I like Gerald a lot," Monken said.

Browns receiver Odell Beckham Jr. also petitioned for Cleveland to sign McCoy.

Not everyone is sold, however.

"What they decide to do, I'll be OK with and I'll accept it and move on, but I think we're good with what we have," defensive end Myles Garrett said Tuesday.

The Browns have Sheldon Richardson and Larry Ogunjobi in the middle with Garrett and Olivier Vernon playing end on Cleveland's defensive line.

Cleveland isn't the only AFC North club on McCoy's radar, as the Cincinnati Bengals reportedly have interest in signing the defender, a source told ESPN's Dianna Russini.
