In order to help get the Cleveland Browns back in the playoffs for the first time since 2002, Baker Mayfield wants all hands on deck and committed to the process.

"We have guys who want to be here," Mayfield told reporters when asked Tuesday about running back Duke Johnson's trade request. "They'll show that, they'll voice that. Obviously, he's going to handle his stuff how he wants, but you're either on this train or you're not. It's moving - you can get out the way or you can join us. It is what it is."

Johnson attended the start of Cleveland's mandatory minicamp after skipping organized team activities but said he still prefers to be moved. He insisted he won't make waves with the Browns as long as he's with the team, per 92.3 The Fan's Daryl Ruiter, but prefers to play somewhere that he's "wanted."

Mayfield, meanwhile, won't create an uncomfortable environment for Johnson, but hopes his running back is still willing to compete as long as he's around.

"It's not awkward, no," he said. "(Johnson's trade request) is self-inflicted. It is what it is. It's not anybody else in this building."

"He's gotta do his job," he continued. "He said he's a professional, I hope he does his job."

Cleveland's third-round pick in the 2015 draft, Johnson would potentially see his role diminish if he remains with the Browns with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt - who'll start the season on an eight-game suspension - also in the backfield.
