The Jacksonville Jaguars are coming off a difficult 5-11 season but have their sights set on a rebound in 2019.

Despite fielding a stout defensive unit, pass-rusher Calais Campbell believes a successful year for Jacksonville rests on the shoulders of its new quarterback.

"The thing I love about this year is it really comes down to Nick Foles," Campbell said, according to NFL.com's Jeremy Bergman. "He's a guy who's over 30, has a lot of experience, won a Super Bowl MVP, but really what he brings is that confidence. He's a natural leader. When he breaks the team huddle at the end of practice, you can see guys really hear him and that's so important. Obviously, what he can do throwing the ball is great, but what he does for the actual overall team, giving us more confidence and belief ..."

Foles was signed as a free agent from the Philadelphia Eagles in March. The 2018 Super Bowl MVP replaces Blake Bortles, who was released after five seasons with the Jaguars.

Campbell believes the team's "youth really showed" in the midst of a difficult campaign, and that Foles' experience and leadership will ultimately benefit both sides of the ball.

"Our defense is incredible, and I feel like we're going to play so much better trying to get him the ball because we know what he'll do with it," Campbell said. "You hear him speak and it's contagious."
