This Calgary family says school bullying drove their nine-year-old to suicide. Now other parents are speaking up

Nine-year-old Amal Alshteiwi died by suicide in March. In the wake of her death, several Calgary parents have spoken to the Star about cases of chronic and violent bullying they say were not taken seriously by the Calgary Board of Education or its schools.
