Denver Broncos players will don helmets sporting a "Mr. B" decal during the season in remembrance of late owner Pat Bowlen, team president Joe Ellis announced Monday, according to Troy Renck of Denver7.

Bowlen died last week after a battle with Alzheimer's disease.

The Broncos will also have a moment for Bowlen prior to their first regular-season game. In addition, the team will honor Bowlen and Champ Bailey for their recent inductions into the Hall of Fame during the Week 6 contest against the Tennessee Titans on Oct. 13.

Ellis added that Denver is unlikely to rename Mile High Stadium after Bowlen.

"I try to think what he would want," said Ellis. "I don't think he would want that. I don't think we are going to do that ... He would say, 'Joe, you are off track with that.'"

Broncos general manager John Elway, who played 15 seasons for Bowlen before being brought back by the longtime owner to run the team's front office, paid tribute to his mentor's rare generosity.

"He ran his football team with his heart and not his pocketbook," said Elway, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic. "The players felt that. Why was he so close to the players? Because he never let the money get in the way of that."
