Tampa Bay Lightning star forward Nikita Kucherov won the Ted Lindsay Award on Wednesday in Las Vegas as the NHL's most outstanding player, as voted on by members of the NHLPA.

Kucherov was rewarded for his phenomenal regular season in which he scored a career-high 41 goals and led the NHL with a remarkable 128 points - 12 more than anyone else in the league.

Kucherov beat out Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid, who won the award each of the last two seasons, and Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane, who received the honor in 2015-16.
