Cobb wants to prove Packers wrong: 'It's like the ex-girlfriend'

Randall Cobb felt as though he was dumped by the Green Bay Packers, and he's carrying a chip on his shoulder to the Dallas Cowboys.

"It's like the ex-girlfriend that broke up with you," Cobb said of his former team to Jason Wilde of the Wisconsin State Journal. "When you see her five years later, you hope you're in a better situation than you were before - married, with kids, and you're able to say, 'Yeah, I did better without you.'"

Cobb spent eight years with the Packers but the team made no effort to retain its longtime slot receiver in free agency. As a result, he took a one-year offer to join the Cowboys.

The 28-year-old registered just 383 yards and two touchdowns in nine contests last year, with injuries once again slowing him down throughout the season.

"If the Packers would have made an offer, I would obviously have had to weigh that decision," he said. "But I'm very excited and very happy to be down in Dallas. I think it's a great situation and I look forward to this season."

The Cowboys host Cobb's old club on Oct. 6.
