Browns' Johnson: 'I don't concern myself' with minicamp drama
Cleveland Browns running back Duke Johnson isn't worried about any possible fallout after requesting a trade away from the team.
"I don't really concern myself with that," Johnson said Saturday, according to George Thomas of the Akron Beacon Journal.
Johnson said he would address the issue - if asked about it - at training camp when it opens on July 24.
Quarterback Baker Mayfield took issue with the running back's trade request and said Johnson should commit to the team or "get out the way."
Several Browns players then reportedly approached Mayfield, as they didn't appreciate the quarterback inserting himself into another player's business situation.
Johnson said he didn't know of such a conversation in the locker room.
Teammate Jarvis Landry stated the whole ordeal was a "non-issue."
Cleveland reportedly doesn't plan to honor Johnson's trade request, which stems from a projected lack of playing time behind Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt.
The Browns finished the 2018 season with a 7-8-1 record after going 1-31 over the previous two campaigns.
