Sharks re-sign Meier to 4-year deal reportedly worth $24M

The San Jose Sharks have re-signed restricted free-agent forward Timo Meier to a four-year contract, the team announced Monday.
The contract carries an average annual value of $6 million, according to TSN's Pierre LeBrun.
Meier is the first phenom from the deep 2019 RFA class to sign a contract.
The 22-year-old is fresh off a breakout season, recording 30 goals and 66 in 78 games with the Sharks in 2018-19. Meier had a strong postseason too, tallying 15 points in 20 games.
San Jose selected the Swiss native ninth overall in the 2015 NHL Draft.
