Family of Dolphins' Norton starts GoFundMe for financial support
The family of Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Kendrick Norton has launched a fundraising campaign to assist with expenses after his NFL career was cut short by a serious car crash.
A GoFundMe page set up by Norton's representation, First Round Management, states that he's undergone three surgeries since the July 3 crash, including the amputation of his left arm, and he needs at least two more before he can have a prosthesis.
"The NFL reached out to Kendrick this morning to let him know that all of his medical costs will be covered. This is great news, but with his career over and no source of income currently, this has put a tremendous amount of financial strain on Kendrick and his family," the description reads. "Any continued support is appreciated. Thank you all."
Norton posted this message on his Instagram story Monday: "I'm good thank you to everyone that checked on me!!! I'm good thanks for the prayers to God be the glory."
