San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo believes his surgically repaired knee will be healed and ready for a full workload by the beginning of training camp.

"The rehab process has gone really well," he told Charean Williams of ProFootballTalk on Tuesday. "Knock on wood. We haven't had any setbacks. OTAs went about as well as I could have hoped for and now for training camp hopefully we'll be full go with team drills and all that stuff. We're moving in the right direction."

Garoppolo tore the ACL in his left knee on Sept. 23, 2018 in a game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He was limited throughout the 49ers' offseason, but the pivot doesn't expect to begin training camp on the physically unable to perform list.

"I'm good to go," Garoppolo said, noting that he isn't facing any physical restrictions. "Finally."

The 27-year-old threw for 718 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions over three games last season prior to going down. He led San Francisco to a 5-0 record as a starter in 2017 before agreeing to a five-year, $137.5-million contract, making him the new face of the franchise.

The Niners will hold their first training camp practice on July 27, and they open the regular season Sept. 8 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

San Francisco went 4-12 last season.
