Twitter does not approve of 18-game NFL season with 16-game player limit
A proposal from NFL owners for an 18-game regular season with a 16-game limit for players was widely ridiculed on Twitter Friday afternoon.
Fans and reporters took turns pointing at all of the problems with such a proposal, which will reportedly be presented in the next round of CBA talks.

18-game season with players permitted to play only 16 of them might be the dumbest idea in the history of professional sports.

I've always wanted to enjoy more second-half-of-the-fourth-preseason-game performances in the regular season https://t.co/FLYw1GN0Uz

For YEARS I have been writing that an 18-game season means resting starters-and not just in Week 17.

So you'd basically get a semi preseason team playing for two games a year during the season. If they don't exempt the QB from the limit, the coaching staff would sit as many starters as possible when QB1 sat out so they'd be available to play all 16 games QB1 started. https://t.co/70CcuvRYOf
