A lucrative short-term contract doesn't appear to be enough to get Yannick Ngakoue in Jacksonville Jaguars camp, as the pass-rusher did not report on Wednesday despite being offered a deal worth over $19 million per year, a source told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

The proposed contract would pay Ngakoue over $50 million in the first two seasons, Pelissero adds.

The $19 million per year average would have made him the fourth highest-paid defensive end in football.

The 24-year-old has proven adept at getting to the quarterback in his first three seasons. He's had years of eight, 12, and 9.5 sacks, having never missed a game in his career.

He's entering the final year of his rookie contract, which pays $2.025 million for the season.
