Report: Elliott to train in Mexico amid holdout
Dallas Cowboys star running back Ezekiel Elliott is set to train in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico amid his holdout from training camp, sources told NFL Network's Jane Slater, according to NFL.com's Jeremy Bergman.
Elliott's camp and the Cowboys will continue negotiations over a contract extension while the rusher is in Mexico.
Dallas apparently isn't thrilled about Elliott's decision to head south, with a team source telling Slater "it's not a good look." The rest of the Cowboys are practicing in Oxnard, Calif.
The 24-year-old also disappeared to Cabo, where his agent owns a house, during his six-game suspension to start the 2017 season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.
Elliott is reportedly looking to become the NFL's highest-paid running back, which is currently Todd Gurley, who earns $14.38 million annually.
The Cowboys have reportedly submitted an offer, but have yet to receive a counteroffer from Elliott's management, according to Slater.
