The Buffalo Sabres and goaltender Linus Ullmark are nearly $2 million apart in negotiations ahead of a scheduled Aug. 2 arbitration hearing, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

Ullmark is seeking an average annual value of $2.65 million, while the team is countering with an offer of $800,000 per season.
