Jets trade for Ravens' Alex Lewis
The New York Jets have traded for Baltimore Ravens guard Alex Lewis, the team announced Monday.
Although Lewis announced his release from the Ravens on Monday, New York sent Baltimore a conditional seventh-round pick to keep him from hitting the waiver wire, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

A 2016 fourth-round pick, Lewis started 10 games for the Ravens last season. He was expected to compete for the starting left guard position this year but began training camp on the physically unable to perform list while recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.
Lewis is the latest attempt by New York to bolster its offensive line. The Jets brought former Carolina Panther center Ryan Kalil out of retirement with a reported one-year contract worth $8.4 million.
Meanwhile, the Ravens will likely let James Hurst, Jermaine Eluemunor, and rookie Ben Powers battle it out for the left guard spot.
