Miami Dolphins running back Kenyan Drake left Tuesday's practice early with an injury and was spotted wearing a walking boot Wednesday.

Head coach Brian Flores confirmed Wednesday the injury will keep Drake out a while, according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald. Flores said the team is hopeful the four-year pro will be available for its regular-season opener against the Baltimore Ravens.

Drake told ESPN's Cameron Wolfe the injury is "nothing crazy" but admitted he'll miss some action.

"I'll be back," he said.

The Dolphins will count on Kalen Ballage at running back in Drake's absence. The 2018 fourth-round pick has been splitting carries with Drake throughout training camp.

Ballage took six carries for 23 yards and a touchdown in last week's preseason opener. Drake ran the ball four times for 12 yards.

Drake finished 2018 ranked second on the team, behind Frank Gore, in rushes (120) and yards (535) while leading the club in rushing touchdowns with four. Ballage had just 36 carries for 191 yards and a score in his rookie season.
