Redskins' Allen: Trent Williams will play for us in 2019

There's been speculation that the Washington Redskins could trade left tackle Trent Williams before the upcoming season, as he remains away from the club. However, team president Bruce Allen put a rest to those rumors Wednesday.

In an interview with NBC Washington's Sherree Burruss, Allen was asked if Williams' future in football will be with the Redskins or if the team has discussed trading the star lineman.

"No, it'll be with us," Allen said.

Allen refused to answer if Williams was either unhappy due to a medical situation with the team or because of his contract situation.

The Redskins have reportedly turned down several offers from multiple teams for the seven-time Pro Bowler.

Williams hasn't attended any team activities throughout the summer. He underwent a procedure to remove a growth - initially feared to be malignant - from his head in the spring.
