Report: Chiefs trade Carlos Hyde to Texans
The Kansas City Chiefs have traded running back Carlos Hyde to the Houston Texans for offensive lineman Martinas Rankin, a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Hyde could land a prominent role with the Texans, who lost Lamar Miller to a torn ACL during the preseason.
The 28-year-old Hyde signed a one-year, $2.8-million deal with Kansas City in March after he was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He rushed for 571 yards and five touchdowns in 14 games split between the Jaguars and Cleveland Browns last year.
Rankin was a third-round pick of the Texans in 2018. The Mississippi State product started four games as a rookie.
The Texans also acquired cornerback Keion Crossen from the New England Patriots in a separate trade, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Crossen appeared in 11 games for New England as a rookie last season.
