Former Washington Redskins receiver Josh Doctson has agreed to sign with the Minnesota Vikings, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The former first-round pick was released by the Redskins after three disappointing seasons. He struggled with injuries throughout much of his time in Washington.

Doctson will reunite with Kirk Cousins, who was his quarterback for his first two seasons with the Redskins.

The Vikings needed to add to their receiver group after keeping just Adam Thielen, Stefon Diggs, Chad Beebe, and Bisi Johnson on their 53-man roster.

Doctson had 532 yards in 2018 and caught six touchdowns the season before. He should challenge for the No. 3 spot behind Minnesota's top duo of Thielen and Diggs.
