Report: Texans release Colvin in 2nd season of 4-year, $34M contract
The Houston Texans are releasing cornerback Aaron Colvin, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Colvin signed a four-year, $34-million contract with Houston last offseason and will receive $7.5 million in guaranteed money despite being cut.
The 27-year-old projects best as a slot defender, a role he thrived in behind Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye during a successful stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
But Colvin has struggled since inking his big-money deal with the Texans. The veteran defensive back, who has yet to record an interception in his NFL career, started just two games for Houston last year and finished the campaign as a healthy scratch in the playoffs.
