Report: Eagles' Maddox week-to-week with neck sprain
Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Avonte Maddox has been diagnosed with a neck sprain and is considered week-to-week, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Maddox will likely miss several games after teammate Andrew Sendejo delivered an accidental vicious hit last Thursday against the Green Bay Packers.
The second-year defensive back was carted off on a stretcher following the blow. He was quickly discharged from a local hospital, and the Eagles announced shortly after that he suffered a concussion.
Philadelphia heads into a Week 5 matchup against the New York Jets very thin in its secondary. Ronald Darby will likely miss additional games after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 3, while Sidney Jones also hurt his hamstring last week.
The team's top three cornerbacks if Jones is unable to suit up on Sunday will be Rasul Douglas, Craig James, and the recently re-signed Orlando Scandrick.
