New England Patriots cornerback Jonathan Jones was not fined for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen last weekend, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

Allen was knocked out of the game with a concussion. He was cleared from concussion protocol Saturday morning and is expected to play in Week 5.

The league determined Jones turned his shoulder while Allen was falling forward toward the defender, according to Rapoport.

Though it ultimately received no punishment, the hit drew the ire of the Bills. Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott said "there's no room in football for that," and safety Micah Hyde said a player would have been ejected if Patriots quarterback Tom Brady took such a hit.

Brady said earlier in the week on a radio show that "football's a contact sport. It's part of football."
