Tuning SAN I/O for tape..
by bobbit72 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4S804)
Hi Guy's,
A slightly geekish question, I need to optimise HBA FCP throughput for tape, max_framesize is currently set to 2KB on the Host (HBA Port) which seems small given that the Disk block size is 4KB, the system I/O block size it 256KB and the tape block size is 2MB...
I'm struggling to find any solid reference points on best practice for tuning this setting..
Any help gratefully received..
Bob.
Note: Main focus is Ubuntu18.04, but I've got similar issues on 2 RHEL 6 servers, it seems to be a generic setting but the only values I can find are 0, 1024, and 2048.. These surely can't be the max..?
