Why does native Firefox on Wayland run so bad?

Regardless of if I launch Firefox with Fedora's firefox-wayland package or use "GDK_BACKEND=wayland" on some other distro it still runs like garbage. Basically Firefox will be extremely stuttery, feeling like it's constantly running between 15-30 fps, impossible to use. It doesn't matter if I run it on my intel HD laptop or my radeon desktop(hd 620, r7 360). I must be doing something wrong 'cause I can't find anyone else that reported this. If I run Firefox in XWayland it works fine, some tearing, but at least 60 fps. All my testing has been done on Fedora 30 Gnome and vanilla Ubuntu 19.04. I tried on KDE; same results, except it doesn't take kindly to Qt so it looks horrible and even more impossible to use. So what am I doing wrong? Is it even a problem with me?latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=nzJ6SUIlo9o:8_4Yh6Rd3Ko:F7zBnMy latest?i=nzJ6SUIlo9o:8_4Yh6Rd3Ko:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=nzJ6SUIlo9o:8_4Yh6Rd3Ko:gIN9vFwnzJ6SUIlo9o
