Amari Cooper's official status for a pivotal Week 7 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles is up in the air due to a quad injury, but the Dallas Cowboys wide receiver is optimistic he can play through it.

"We'll see (if I can play)," Cooper said Thursday, according to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. "Day to day. I'm feeling a little bit better every day."

Cooper added he isn't willing to miss Sunday's game for the sake of getting extra rest prior to a Week 8 bye, adding: "I am preparing like I am going to play."

While the star wideout's health had improved from earlier this week, it's plateaued over the last couple days, forcing him to miss practice Thursday, Gehlken notes. Cooper plans to test his injured quad Friday before determining his status for Sunday.

"From the time I had hurt it in the Green Bay game to the time I talked to you guys, it had taken a huge leap," Cooper said. "So, I thought it would continue to get a lot better each and every day - but it kind of plateaued and it only got a little bit better every day."

Dallas will hope to have Cooper near full strength after losing its last three games. In two contests against Philadelphia last year, Dak Prescott's top target caught 16 passes for 292 yards and three touchdowns.
