New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley was a full participant in practice Friday, putting him in line to return versus the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7.

"He's available," Giants coach Pat Shurmur told reporters, according to SNY's Ralph Vacchiano. "We'll see if he's back. If he is, he'll be ready to go. I just choose not to tell you right now."

Barkley missed three games after spraining his ankle on Sept. 22. Initial reports suggested the second-year star could be sidelined for as many as eight weeks.

Despite the injury, Barkley still leads the Giants in rushing with 237 yards and a touchdown over three appearances. New York went 1-2 while he was out.

Along with Barkley, tight end Evan Engram practiced fully Friday and is expected to return following a one-game absence due to a sprained MCL. Engram leads the team in receiving with 373 yards and two touchdowns.

In less joyful news, the Giants ruled out wide receiver Sterling Shepard, who will miss his second straight game with a concussion.
