Lions lose Johnson, Slay to injuries vs. Vikings
The Detroit Lions ruled out running back Kerryon Johnson and cornerback Darius Slay after they sustained knee and hamstring injuries, respectively, versus the Minnesota Vikings.
Johnson returned to the bench with a brace over his right leg after briefly visiting the locker room. Slay appeared to aggravate a hamstring injury he had battled over the last several weeks.
The Lions were stricken by the injury bug all afternoon Sunday, also losing Damon Harrison Sr. and Jarrad Davis for periods of time.
Johnson entered Week 7 averaging just 3.3 yards per carry, a far cry from the 5.4 yards he averaged as a rookie. Slay, the Lions' top cornerback, had one interception in four appearances prior to facing the Vikings.
