The New England Patriots will look to stay undefeated when they travel to take on the New York Jets on Monday Night Football. Here are the best player prop bets for the prime-time clash.
James White over 5.5 receptionsWhite's reception prop was once again a cakewalk last Thursday against the New York Giants, as he caught all nine of his targets for 46 yards. White's now the second-most targeted skill player in the Pats' offense this season behind Julian Edelman, and he should see the same type of production with wide receiver Josh Gordon sidelined on Monday. White has also recorded at least six catches and nine targets in each of the last three games, and he now gets to face a Jets defense that has allowed more than six catches per contest to opposing running backs this season.
Sony Michel under 68.5 rushing yardsThe Patriots being up late and consistently feeding Michel to run out the clock worries me, but he doesn't have a great overall matchup on his hands. The Jets' defense has been oddly stout against the rush this season, allowing just 3.5 yards per carry, which ranks No. 3 in the NFL. Michel has stepped up in recent games by averaging 80 yards on the ground over the last three after posting a grand total of 108 in his first three. He put up 86 rushing yards against the Giants, but he needed a late garbage-time drive to go over his prop of 77.5 yards last week.
Robby Anderson longest reception under 21.5 yardsHaving Sam Darnold back under center last week for the first time since the opener benefited Anderson, who went off for 125 yards on five catches after combining for 27 on four over the previous two weeks combined. You could say Anderson's stock is back on the upswing with Darnold healthy, but the wide receiver has a terrible matchup against Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore. Though it was Luke Falk leading the Jets' offense in last month's meeting between these teams, Anderson was held to just 21 yards on three receptions with Gilmore acting as the primary cover man. In fact, Anderson hasn't had a catch go for a first down in each of the last three meetings when matched up against Gilmore, so you can expect one of the league's elite defensive backs to hold Anderson - primarily a deep threat - to a pretty bland stat line on Monday.
