Oct. 22, 2014: Hamilton’s Cpl. Nathan Cirillo gunned down in Ottawa

Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, was gunned down Oct. 22, 2014, while working sentry duty at the Canadian National War memorial in Ottawa. An entire country went into mourning, culminating in a funeral in Hamilton that was the biggest the city has ever seen.
