If you need a set-top box for your living room and the Roku doesn't do it for you, Nvidia's Shield TV is a powerful choice. Now, it seems the graphics giant is prepping a new box called the Nvidia Shield TV Pro, according to a now-deleted Amazon page noticed by 9to5Google.

The box, apparently set to release on October 28, looks like a solid refresh of Nvidia's current hardware. It looks identical in pictures, but according to the text it features a Tegra X1+ processor that it says is "up to 25% faster." Aside from that, most of the specs are identical. 3GB RAM, 16GB Flash storage, and even the same ports. Those include two USB ports, an Ethernet port, and an HDMI port. The box does add support for Dolby Vision and Atmos, and features AI-assisted upscaling for making 1080p videos look better on 4K displays.

The remote is new, though. Nvidia has chosen a weird-looking ir?t=techreport09-20&l=alb&o=1&a=B0756HYToblerone design. The remote has a ton more buttons than ir?t=techreport09-20&l=alb&o=1&a=B01N1NTthe current model, including a media buttons in addition to the mic button and basic navigation ring. There's apparently a lost-remote locator, which we're very curious about.

Few new features

The new CPU, remote, and Dolby support are the only real headliners here. The box will work as it does now, running Android and letting you run apps like GeForce Now, Netflix, Hulu, and Plex Media Server (The Verge notes that the device can also be used as a Plex media server). If you already have a Shield TV, this doesn't seem like the one to pick up unless your current one is already struggling to run something. On the other hand, the Shield is one of the more powerful set-top boxes out there, so if you're in the market - it's not a bad option.

The whole thing is priced at $199 and releases on October 28.
