New York Rangers prospect Vitali Kravtsov has exercised his European assignment clause to sign with his former club, Traktor Chelyabinsk of the KHL, according to the New York Post's Larry Brooks.

Friday marked the first day Kravstov could exercise the clause. It is only for one year and the Rangers can still recall him at any time this season, Brooks adds.

Selected by New York with the ninth overall pick of the 2018 NHL Draft, Kravstov did not make the Rangers' roster out of training camp and has recorded one assist in five games with the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack.

The 19-year-old forward tallied two goals and six points in seven games to help Russia capture a bronze medal at the 2019 world juniors.
