Bears' Pineiro says ball wasn't in his preferred spot on late FG miss

Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy may not be done answering questions about his decision to kneel this past Sunday.
Bears kicker Eddy Pineiro said Tuesday that he would have preferred to kick from a center spot rather than the left hash, according to 670 The Score's Chris Emma. The ball was in the latter spot for the 41-yard, potentially game-winning field goal Pineiro missed as time expired against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
"I'm a professional kicker. I got to adjust to it," he said.
Nagy decided to take a knee on the left hash with 43 seconds left in order to run the clock down, rather than running a play and attempting to gain some yards to shorten Pineiro's field-goal attempt.
"What happens if you take a sack or there's a fumble?" Nagy told reporters postgame. "I'll just be brutally clear: zero thought of throwing the football, zero thought of running the football."
On Monday, Nagy still didn't have any regrets.
"I would do it again a thousand times," Nagy said, according to the Chicago Tribune's Colleen Kane.
Pineiro was 12-for-14 on field goals this season before the miss.
