Rams' Cooks to see specialist after 2nd concussion in October
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Brandin Cooks is set to visit with a specialist in Pittsburgh after suffering his second concussion this October, head coach Sean McVay announced Tuesday, according to ESPN's Lindsey Thiry.
Cooks was placed in the concussion protocol after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit in Sunday's win over the Cincinnati Bengals. The pass-catcher was also placed in the protocol after Week 5, but he was cleared in time to play in the following game.
"We just want to take it a day at a time," McVay said when asked about how this affects the remainder of Cooks' season. "Any time that you have something like this occur, you want to consider the human being first and foremost, and that's what we're going to do and we'll take our time."
Prior to this campaign, the 26-year-old had suffered three known concussions.
Cooks is in the second season of a five-year, $81-million extension he signed several months after being acquired from the New England Patriots for a first-round pick in April 2018.
