Jets' Adams turns down GM's offer to discuss deadline trade talks
Jamal Adams is still upset that his name was included in trade rumors, and he's not ready to discuss the matter with New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas.
"I'm not ready to talk. That's where I'm at with it," Adams said Wednesday, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini. "When you go through something, sometimes it's best to let everything cool down."
After the trade deadline passed Tuesday, the two-time Pro Bowl safety accused Douglas of going behind Adams' back and shopping him to other teams.
"We were not shopping Jamal, I can promise you that," Douglas told reporters, adding that he was simply listening to offers for his players.
Douglas said he intended to speak with Adams to clear the air, but it's something the three-year pro is not yet ready for.
"For three years, I've done nothing but work my butt off, continue to improve, be a great leader for the team, be a great teammate," Adams said. "When you see certain things like that and you hear about it and you get calls, you're in shock a little bit, right."
