Saquon Barkley and the New York Giants fell to 2-7 on the season after a 38-17 beatdown by the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night, the team's fifth consecutive loss.

"We are struggling right now and things aren't going our way, but I'm not going to lose my focus," Barkley said after the divisional clash, according to Grant Gordon of NFL.com.

Barkley had 14 carries for 28 yards - the second-worst rushing total of his career - but did catch six balls for 67 yards on eight targets.

"It's football, it's the NFL. It's week what? I don't even know," he said when asked where he was physically. "I'm coming off of an ankle injury. I'm not going to make any excuses."

The reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year has now faced a 2-7 record in both of his seasons in the league, with his rushing averages dropping from 81.7 to 66.8 yards per game in 2019.

"Things aren't going our way right now, we can't just cry about it," Barkley said. "I'm just going to continue to come to work every single day and I am 100% sure that it will turn around. It just hasn't turned around as soon as we would have liked it to."

The Giants will try to avoid their first 2-8 start since 2017 against the 2-7 New York Jets in Week 11.
