Moving the EFI boot Partition w/multi OS's onto a different HDD, how to?
by BW-userx from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4TTK1)
I got everything on sdb as my boot drive, as efi takes some fanaggling being that my HP 840 g2 laptop does not allow the boot manager in the BIOS to control sdb. And I got Windows 10 and Slack, and whatever other Linux distro, as I got a 30GB partition set for something else, and FreeBSD on the EFI boot partition.
well this is what is in there now.
Code:userx@slack64efi.net:~
$ ls /boot/efi/EFI
Boot GRUB Microsoft slackware-14.2+ ubuntuFreeBSD created its own EFI at fat16 insteadof fat32, because it needs the fat16 to work. the Ununtu is -> elementary OS, for now. That is going away soon. Its grub not working, and I just figured if I got a fit this I might as well move everything over onto the sda drive and see if I can get the BIOS boot manager to deal with all of them.
So I am in the process of moving everything off of it, to change its partition table and create a EFI partition.
I am planing on using some software https://www.easyuefi.com/faq/en-US/M...Partition.html in windows to move its EFI onto the new partition, I think it might move everything in it. I have no idea.
So I am wondering if anything has any experience in moving the EFI onto a different drive. what should I prepare myself for in this process?
