Introducing a new Mint convert

Hello everyone, I am a longtime Linux user that has switched to Mint recently, and I am very happy that I have done so! Perhaps this Winter I will get around to learning more advanced cli operations, but I am very comfortable with the basics. I have recently built my 3rd computer though. This one has an AMD Ryzen 7 1700 processor, Prime B450M-A Mobo, GEFORCE GT1030 graphics card, 16 GB of DDR4 memory, a 250 GB SSD for the OS, and a 4 TB HDD for storage.
I am now here because I am researching printers. My old HP 1020 printer no longer feeds correctly even after cleaning the wheels. A shop could probably repair it by replacing the springs, but I want to figure out whether or not it is cost effective to repair it verses replacing it. I don't print things very often, therefore I am not interested in color jet printers containing ink cartridges that dry out within a few months.
