Multiple kernels, nvidia, and dkms

If I have multiple kernels on my system (only two, the generic and a custom kernel), can dkms be used?

What I'm asking is,

1. If I install the nvidia driver with the --dkms option, then, how do I build a kernel module for the custom kernel?

2. Can I use the --dkms option with -K -k?

3. Will the nvidia kernel rebuild upon reboot for either kernel, depending on which was upgraded?latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=_omr0R4LwF4:8zRavQ7MO6A:F7zBnMy latest?i=_omr0R4LwF4:8zRavQ7MO6A:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=_omr0R4LwF4:8zRavQ7MO6A:gIN9vFw_omr0R4LwF4
