Install linux on a 128 GB MicroSD

I installed ubuntu 16.04 Desktop on a 16 GB
successfully on a 32 bit machine.
When I tried to install in a 128 GB MicroSd,
I never able to get it installed. I exactly
followed the same procedure as in 16 GB and
also tried various methods like installe
in the complete dis,or by creating partition.
I always get
The creation #3 or #4 partition failed.
Is there a problem in installing onto USBs beyond
16 GB?
Is there any one really successfully installed onto
a 128microSD? Please share your experience and
installed tips.
I watched many videos, and read installed procedures,
but never succeeded. Thanks.
