The New Orleans Saints suffered one of their worst losses of the Drew Brees era against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, and the star quarterback was not happy about it.

Brees described the 26-9 defeat to the division rivals as "unacceptable," according to The Times-Picayune's Rod Walker.

The future Hall of Fame signal-caller is looking for a bounce-back effort after the Saints saw their six-game winning streak snapped by the now 2-7 Falcons.

"I think we know we're a lot better than that," Brees said. "This is a time when we really want to start separating ourselves from the pack in a positive way and continuing to position ourselves to achieve the goals that we have set for this team."

Brees failed to throw a touchdown at home for the first time since joining New Orleans. He was sacked six times and saw his running game stumble to a season-low 52 yards.

"Unfortunately, our execution just was not up to standard across the board. That needs to get cleaned up and it will get cleaned up and as a result, we'll play a lot better," the QB said.

The 7-2 Saints still sit first in the NFC South and will travel to Tampa Bay for another divisional clash against the Buccaneers.
