Recover a RAID 5 setup

So I have these 4 disk that I setup under another OS as a software raid. I've since installed a new OS and would like to recover this raid.
I tried to use force but it's not coming back and I don't want to lose the data that in on this RAID. How can I rebuild the raid without losing the data on the disks?
