Newbie guides to Linux
by The Xunil Bypass from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4V7XJ)
I am unfortunately one of those rare newbies who does not find sudo and Linux syntax "Obvious!" as one person at my local Linux SIG asserted.
In hunting around for anything that could help me install and set up Linux I came across a link on this site to "A Newbie's Getting Started Guide to Linux".
This link personifies everything about Linux (except it was not broken or dead).
1. You can't just download it, you have to apply for it
2. The file is cryptically called "w_make07". "A Newbie's Getting Started Guide to Linux" would give too much away
3. It is 12 years old
4. It was created in Microsoft Word (...so not created on Linux!)
Ignoring those passing observations, is there anything out there that is current, and could help a newbie manage Linux as we head into 2020?
All (working) links will be much appreciated! :study:
