Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley had his best performance of the season, in terms of total yardage, leading his team to a 17-7 win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday night.

Gurley ran the ball 25 times for 97 yards and a touchdown, and he added 36 receiving yards.

The 28 total touches were a season-high for the back. He also displayed some of his trademark burst and power on a run of 13 yards and a 23-yard reception.

"It felt good. I guess I felt like the old Todd," Gurley said after the game.

"I'm just happy I was able to go out there and just take advantage of my opportunities."

From 2015 to 2018, Gurley led the league in touches and total yards. This year, the Rams have made a concerted effort to lighten his workload by including fellow rushers Malcolm Brown and Darrell Henderson during games.

However, Gurley was allowed a little more run Sunday night with the Rams entering the game at 5-4 and fighting to stay in the playoff picture.

"I was able to get a little bit more opportunity but like I said, you've just got to take advantage of it," he said.

The 25-year-old will face a stiff test next week when the Rams take on the Baltimore Ravens and their seventh-ranked run defense.
