apt will only install new packages from my usb
by porphyry5 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4VKZ6)
I've just installed debian from a usb stick copied from .iso #1
Install itself is fine but now I want to install further packages from the net, but whatever I ask for gets me one of 2 responses; either mount install usb on /media/cdrom, or package is unavailable.
How do I get apt to search online for packages?
Hold on, I find sources.list in /etc refers to cdrom, different from same file in /usr/share/doc... I'll change /etc and see what happens.
But that had no effect.
