Washington Redskins edge rusher Ryan Kerrigan will sit out Week 13 with a concussion and miss a game for the first time in his nine-year career.

Interim head coach Bill Callahan delivered the announcement Friday, praising Kerrigan as "a consummate pro," according to JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington.

Kerrigan has appeared in 139 consecutive contests since being drafted in the first round in 2011. He'll be inactive Sunday when Washington faces the Carolina Panthers.

The 31-year-old has eclipsed the 10-sack plateau in each of his last three seasons, but he has just 4.5 through 11 games in 2019 and is on pace the lowest total of his career.
