Touchpad seems too sensitive

With my new Linux Mint on-baord I am finding the touchpad to be rather well......touchy. It seems much more sensitive to movement and I have a hard time placing the cursor exactly where I want it. I looked under the mouse settings and keyboard, but I'm not seeing anything to make changes. I figure I'm just looking in the wrong place. Any advice for another newbie?
