So many questions about the "amdgpu" driver
by Jason_25 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4VX5P)
1.Does this driver display a comprehensive list of supported devices in the xorg log? My device, "Raven Ridge" is not listed here.
2. Is only an updated kernel required for amdgpu, and no other packages?
3. Is kernel 4.19 enough?
4. How would I determine the supported kernel version myself short of browsing commit comments?
5. If the driver is truly an open source effort then why is AMD offering precompiled packages on their website? Should support not be preincluded?
6. What is special about the owners of these devices that they should have to go through this? The procedure with an Nvidia card is buy card, install driver.
7. Any other tips to continue troubleshooting "No Devices Detected" in the xorg log?
