Cups Printing Job completes; nothing happens. Brother TD-4100N Printer on Linux Mint 19.1

Hi Folks,

yesterday I freshly installed a new Linux Mint Distro to my machine and since then I can not bring my Brother TD-4100N Label printer back to life, that printed well on my old installation.
For installation I followed the information given by Brother:
(https://support.brother.com/g/b/down...geType-590_0_1)

Installed the CUPSwrapper and LPR provided by Brother. The printer shows up in the CUPS menu @localhost:631

The Printer shows up when I use following commands:

$ lsusb > Bus 001 Device 005: ID 04f9:203a Brother Industries, Ltd
$ lpstat -p -d > printer TD-4100N is idle. enabled since Mon 02 Dec 2019 01:24:37 AM CET

However: When I try to print a test page or anything else, the job completes without showing any problems, but the printer does absolutely nothing. There is not even a sign that it receives some data (indicated by a blinking LED).

I would be very thankful if anybody could give me some advice on this problem.

Thanks in advance,
